HEBI Robotics Wins 3rd RBR50 Award for Industrial Capabilities
New CHISLR Robot and HEBI Haptic Controller Showcase the Power of Modular Robotics in Heavy Industry
PITTSBURGH, PA – June 5, 2026 – HEBI Robotics has been selected for a prestigious RBR50 Robotics Innovation Award for its new CHISLR robot and HEBI Haptic Controller. This 2026 award represents the third time HEBI has been selected for an RBR50 win.
CHISLR - a HEBI Robotics H-Series industrial robot.
CHISLR, a custom industrial robot developed in-house by HEBI using H-Series actuators, is designed to help reduce fatigue and provide safer conditions for operators in dangerous factory conditions. This robot is an example of HEBI’s capabilities in heavy industry and was commissioned by a metals processing facility located in the US as part of a comprehensive effort to modernize facilities and invest in long-term worker health.

In developing the robot, HEBI engineers also created a new system for teleoperation (operating a robot remotely) now known as the HEBI Haptic Controller. The judges from The Robot Report, an internationally-recognized group of journalists covering the robotics industry, were impressed by the system’s ability to “withstand harsh conditions while preserving operator control.”
While CHISLR’s design is unique, its specific components are not. “That’s the real secret to HEBI’s success,” says Dave Rollinson, HEBI CTO and co-founder, “being able to select from our family of actuators, then build a custom robot quickly and control it with our own software: that’s what allows us to build these robots with such specific form factors and short development cycles.” Being able to create and control robots with a shorter turnaround was a point echoed by HEBI’s CEO, Bob Raida, as well. “We have customers coming back to us because of our ability to deliver results quickly and with better flexibility than they are seeing elsewhere.” He continued, “The world needs lots of different robots and HEBI is continuing to make it easier to build new robots faster than ever before.”
HEBI Haptic Controller
HEBI plans to install the CHISLR system in the customer’s facility in early 2027. The HEBI Haptic Controller, a customizable haptic feedback control for robots, is currently available for pre-order. Demonstrations of the HEBI Haptic Controller will be held at ICRA in Vienna, Austria, June 2-4th; and at Automate in Chicago June 22-25th.
